We do not use cookies or tracking technologies to store user-specific data.

1.3 User-Generated Content (Photos and Media)

When users upload photos to CineMapper—such as profile pictures, or images added to location pages—these files are stored securely in Google Firebase and linked to your account.

By uploading photos or other media, you confirm that:

• You own or have permission to share the content.

• You consent to its public display on CineMapper.

• Your content complies with applicable copyright and data protection laws.

User-uploaded photos may contain personal data (for example, if they feature identifiable individuals). CineMapper does not use these photos for marketing, advertising, or AI training without your explicit consent.

2. How We Use Your Information

We collect and process data to:

• Provide and improve CineMapper’s services.

• Display user-generated content (e.g., photos) on profiles and location pages.

• Analyze website traffic and usage patterns (through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity).

• Communicate important updates, including policy or service changes.

• Maintain account security and prevent unauthorized access.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

• All user data, including uploaded photos, is stored securely in Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard protections.

• Firebase’s built-in security and access controls are used to safeguard user information.

• User-uploaded photos are stored in Firebase Storage and are deleted automatically if your account is deleted or inactive for 24 months.

• All user data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

• CineMapper staff have limited access rights and only for legitimate administrative purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing Data

We process personal data based on:

User Consent: By signing up for CineMapper and uploading content, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Legitimate Interest: We collect limited analytics data to understand and improve platform performance.

5. User Rights (GDPR Compliance)

As a CineMapper user, you have the right to:

Access your data – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correct inaccuracies – Update any incorrect or incomplete information.

Request deletion – You can request deletion of your account and all associated content at any time by emailing [email protected] or using in-app settings.

Remove specific content – You can request the removal of any uploaded photos or media without deleting your full account.

Idle Accounts – In compliance with GDPR, CineMapper will automatically delete user accounts and all associated personal data and photos after 24 months of inactivity, unless required to retain certain information for legal or security reasons.

Withdraw consent – You can stop receiving communications or delete your account at any time.

6. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

• We do not share personal data with third parties.

• We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymous traffic insights.
